Install MT5 Gold EA in 5 minutes

Got your licence email? Great — here's the full setup, step by step. You'll need your licence key, your download link, and MetaTrader 5 installed and logged into your approved trading account.

Download & copy the EA into MetaTrader 5

Download the latest ZIP from the client portal (or the link in your licence email) and unzip it. In MetaTrader 5, go to File → Open Data Folder, then open MQL5 → Experts and copy BACGoldEA_Filter.ex5 into that folder.

Updating from an older version? Same file name, same steps — just overwrite the old file and restart MetaTrader 5. Your chart settings are kept.

Restart MetaTrader 5 (or right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and hit Refresh). The EA now appears in the Navigator list.

Allow the licence check (WebRequest)

The EA verifies your licence online, so MetaTrader must be allowed to reach our licence server. Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and:

Tick “Allow WebRequest for listed URL”
Add this URL to the list:

https://khtgpmagwszululscnbt.supabase.co

Click OK. Without this step the EA cannot validate your licence and will not trade.

Attach it to a XAUUSD chart

Open a XAUUSD (gold) chart and set the timeframe to M5. Drag MT5 Gold EA from the Navigator onto the chart.

In the inputs window, paste your licence key into the LicenseKey field, leave the other settings at their defaults, and click OK. Curious what the settings do? Here's each one in one line →

Turn on Algo Trading

Click the Algo Trading button in the MT5 toolbar so it turns green. Within a few seconds you should see the EA's panel on the chart showing LIVE — READY (or its current state).

Run it on a VPS (strongly recommended)

The EA manages open positions tick by tick and needs to run 24/5 without interruption — not on a laptop that sleeps. We recommend a low-latency Forex VPS: see our VPS guide or go straight to ForexVPS.net.

Turn on Telegram monitoring (1 minute, free)

Our servers watch your EA around the clock. If it stops reporting — VPS crash, closed terminal, EA removed — you get a Telegram message within about 15 minutes, and another the moment it's back online. Included free with every licence (EA v1.34 or newer).

Open Telegram and start a chat with @MT5GoldEABOT.
Send: /link YOUR-LICENSE-KEY — the same key you entered in step 3.
The bot replies “✅ Linked” — that's it. No settings on your VPS, nothing to install.

Commands you can use anytime:

/status — your latest report: equity, open positions, EA state, last contact
/mute — pause alerts (e.g. before planned VPS maintenance or shutting down for the weekend), /unmute to resume
/unlink — disconnect this Telegram chat from your licence

Monitoring alerts you — it doesn't replace a stable VPS, which stays your first line of defense.

⚠ Keep the minimum balance. The EA will not trade while the account is below the required minimum — USC 100,000 (≈ USD 1,000) on cent accounts, USD 50,000 on standard accounts. Your licence stays valid, but trading pauses automatically until the balance is back above the minimum.

Troubleshooting

Panel says LOCKED — LICENSE: check step 2 (WebRequest URL added exactly as shown), confirm your licence key has no extra spaces, and that you're on the exact account number the licence was issued for.
Panel says LOCKED — BALANCE: the account is below the minimum for its type — top it up and the EA resumes automatically.
EA loads but nothing happens: make sure Algo Trading is green, the symbol is XAUUSD (your broker may name it e.g. XAUUSDm — that's fine), and the market is open.
Wrong account type error: the EA requires a hedging MT5 account — netting accounts are not supported.
Bot says “no reports yet”: monitoring needs EA v1.34 or newer actually running on the chart — it starts reporting about 30 seconds after the EA loads. On older versions, update first (your download link always has the latest build).
Bot says “license key not recognized”: copy the key exactly as it appears in your licence email — no extra spaces — and send it as /link YOUR-LICENSE-KEY in one message.
