How to update safely.

A new version takes about two minutes to install. Your licence and settings stay exactly as they are — same file name, nothing to re-enter.

⚠️ Update only when your EA is flat — no open trades. Replacing the file mid-grid can interrupt an open recovery. Once you're flat, any time works: simply close MetaTrader, swap the file, reopen.

Make sure you're flat

Open your portal and check the account shows 0 open positions. If a grid is open, wait until it closes — then update any time. Never replace the file mid-trade.

Download the new version

In the portal, tap “Download latest EA” and unzip it. You'll get BACGoldEA_Filter.ex5.

Close MetaTrader 5

Fully quit MetaTrader 5 (on your VPS or PC) so the old file isn't in use while you replace it.

Replace the file

In MT5's data folder, go to MQL5 › Experts and copy the new BACGoldEA_Filter.ex5 in, overwriting the old one. Same file name means your chart, inputs and licence all stay exactly as they were. (Tip: in MT5 use File → Open Data Folder to find MQL5 › Experts.)

Reopen and confirm

Start MetaTrader 5 again. It loads the new version automatically — check the EA panel on the chart shows the new version number and LIVE — READY, and that Algo Trading is on. Done.

How will I know an update is out? The EA shows “UPDATE vX.XX available” right on the chart panel, and we email you. There's never any rush — update at your next flat moment.
