GMT5 GOLD EA Setup guide →
EA settings · the simple version

What all those settings actually do.

One line each, no jargon. You'll notice most of them belong in the "leave alone" pile — that's on purpose.

★ Our strong recommendation
Change nothing. Enter your licence key — that's it.

Every default below is exactly how we test and run the EA ourselves. The settings work together as one tuned system, and modified settings are the #1 cause of avoidable losses we see. If you feel something should be different, email us first — we'll tell you honestly.

Set this

The only required field.

LicenseKeyYour personal key from the activation email. Without it, the EA won't trade.

Adjust if you want

Safe, personal-preference settings. Defaults work fine if you skip this section entirely.

StartingLotSize of the first trade in a cycle (default 0.01). Bigger lot = bigger profits and bigger drawdowns — everything scales with it, so keep it matched to your balance.
DailyProfitTargetUSD"Done for the day" switch: once today's profit hits this amount, no new cycles until tomorrow. 0 = off.
UseEquityDrawdownLimitEmergency brake: closes everything if your account drops the set percentage from its peak. Off by default.
TotalEquityRiskWhere that brake kicks in — 0.30 means 30% below peak equity.
UseFridayEarlyStopStops opening new trades early on Friday so you head into the weekend calmer. On by default.v1.36+
FridayLastTradeHourThe Friday cutoff hour, in your broker's server time (default 12 = midday).
FridayFlattenEnabledStricter weekend option: also force-close anything still open later on Friday (at FridayFlattenHour). Off by default — closing early can lock in a basket's temporary loss.
UseMarketRegimeFilterOptional caution filter: skips new trades in strongly trending or violent markets. Off by default.
ShowChartInfoThe status panel on your chart. No reason to turn it off.

Leave at default

The engine itself — entry, grid and safety mechanics, tuned as one system. Changing one piece changes how the whole machine behaves.

StraddleDistance / StraddlePendingTPHow far the entry orders sit from the market and their targets.
LotExponent / LotDigitsHow lot sizes grow through a recovery, and their rounding.
MaxTrades / PipStep1 / PipStep2 / GridSwitchLevelThe grid's shape: how many levels and how far apart.
TakeProfitWhere a basket closes in profit, measured from its break-even.
Slippage / BuyMagic / SellMagicOrder execution tolerance and the EA's internal trade IDs.
MaxTradeOpenHoursOptional time-based exit. 0 = off (default).
Rollover settings (UsePauseWindow…)The daily pause around midnight rollover, when spreads spike. Already set correctly.
MaxStraddleSpreadPointsBlocks new trades when the spread is abnormally wide.
Basket safety (MaxBasketLots…)Optional hard caps per basket — advanced risk controls, 0 = off.
AccountTypeOverrideForces cent/standard detection — only change this if support asks you to.
⚠️ Tempted to tune the grey section? Please ask us first — info@mt5goldea.com. Those values were tuned together as one system, and "small" changes there are the most common cause of avoidable losses we see.

That's genuinely all of it.

Key in, defaults on, running on a VPS — that's the setup we test with.
